TOKENS

1. What are tokens?

Tokens are a kind of virtual money used to „pay” for some courses at Warsaw University. One semester of Pe classes  is worth 30 tokens which equals PLN 240. Each student receives  a number of free tokens, that covers the number of obligatory semesters of PE classes. All students of full-time and part-time studies are eligible to free PE tokens when they start studying at Warsaw University. The appropriate number of free tokens is granted by Dean’s offices. For those who started studying between 2012-2015 were granted 120 tokens and since the year 2016 new students are granted 90 tokens for first-cycle studies and 30 for second-cycle studies. During the open registration tour the tokens are charged automatically from the account (when student is registering for the course) and they are given back to the account (when the student deregisters from the course during the open  registration tour).

2. The limited number of tokens to spend

On the „token registration” site there is a limited number of tokens to spend. The number of 30 PE tokens means that during this tour a student may spend only 30 tokens, therefore it is possibe to enrol for one course only. The limited 60 tokens means that 60 tokens can be spent. But please, remember that limits never sum up – if in the first tour (limit 30 PE tokens) a student enrolled for one course, then in the third round (limit 60 PE tokens) he /she may  enrol only for one more course, as the total cost of PE course is 60 tokens. However, if in the first tour a student hasn’t registered for any course, now it is possible to enrol for two courses (total cost will be  60 tokens).

3. When tokens are lost and  how to purchase them

3.1.  All students of full-time and part-time studies are eligible to free PE tokens when they start studying at Warsaw University. For those who started studying between 2012-2015 were granted 120 tokens and since the year 2016 new students are granted 90 tokens for first-cycle studies and 30 for second-cycle studies.

3.2. Students who have failed to earn credit for a PE semester and had not deregistered from the chosen section before the end of Internet registration, will lose 30 free PE tokens, which are needed for registration for the next semester.

3.3. To buy tokens a student must registrate via token registration for choosen section in I, II or III tour of registration (as before). During this process the there will be seen information about the fee (PLN 240 for each 30 tokens), which must be paid by bank transfer until the end of the 4th week of classes in the semester, for which is enroling. The data for the transfer can be found on Student’s USOSweb, tab „payment” (see also: How to enrol – registration step by step).

3.4. Failure to effect payment in due time will result in no credit for the semester and statutory interest on the arrears. Students who have chosen any paid courses will  pay PLN 240 for tokens to the University and an additional course fee to the institution that runs the course.

3.5. If a student transfers  their PE credits from a different university, is automatically charged 30 tokens from the account for each transferred semester.

3.6. If  a student  passes a course by medical exemption and yet hasn’t registered for PE classes, is charged 30 tokens from the account for each semester completed this way.

4. Additional tokens

4.1.  Facultative  students

Students who have completed obligatory PE courses with no loss of any tokens in the process may apply for additional tokens. To get the tokens please fill out the form befor third round of registration: https://wfisport.uw.edu.pl/dodatkowe-zetony/

ATTENTION! Students have to earn credit for additional PE courses, even though they have completed obligatory course hours. In such case, ‘Fail’ grade will result in conditional registration and precludes a student from receiving a further 30 tokens. Therefore, your decision to enrol in an additional course should be well thought out.

4.2. Not full-time students and doctoral students.

If the Council of the particular Faculty has not determined the number of obligatory PE courses for part-time students, they have the right to attend PE classes (if there are any free places) up to 60 hours, free of charge. To get the tokens please fill out the form befor third round of registration: https://wfisport.uw.edu.pl/dodatkowe-zetony/
